Wondering if anyone could let me know how the trails up by big sandy are? Wondering if there is enough snow to be snowmobiling around the area for the upcoming weekend

I to am looking for some snow to ride without driving 6hrs to ride. I bought a brand new zr 6000 in October and am itching to ride.

I don't know, but we're going up to that general area tomorrow and I'll report back. A buddy was up a week ago. Found 8 inches of ice on a relatively small lake and about 8 inches of snow on top. That won't mean a whole lot for the trails - no doubt there's good snow left everywhere but on them - but it does mean that if a guy can find a safe lake to ride he'd be in business. Probably worth a call to a resort or power sports dealer in the area to check.

I'm heading up to BSL tomorrow and called Willey's Bait and Tackle for an ice report this afternoon. They told me 10-18" of ice and not a lot of snow. He made it sound like 3-4". Great for ATV travel, not so good for sleds.

There was 10" or so of ice on the smaller lake that we fished in the area and about 5-6 inches of snow. The snowmobile trails there looked great, but the ones that I saw were in a heavily wooded area so they weren't getting a lot of sun.

area report was up to 12 inches of snow on 1-28. I was up last weekend, the trails were groomed, and not bad for the little base. they received another 4-6 inches since I was out riding. of course this warm weather with all the wind is hurting bad.

riding around big sandy should be good, as most trails are heavily wooded.
