Hello anyone from the McGregor area been able to check ice conditions lately. I'm going to be in the area this weekend wondering if I should still bring ice fishing gear. Looking to walk out and fish some smaller lakes in the area? Any info would be appreciated thanks

I saw on the milacs web cam yesterday , there were cars still driving on. Id imagine the McGregor area should be good for walking. But with the warm weather again, Id be cautious.

anyone fish Gun lake this winter.? The crappies were running small last fall.

Thanks the bait store said they are still driving 4-wheelers on the lakes up there. Anyone have any fishing reports at all from big sandy minnewawa or other lakes in that area? I'll be heading up there in the morning.

Time is about out to use wheelers or side x sides. I heard of at least 6 wheelers or side x sides that went through today. It was amazing how much the ice deteriorated through the day.

the ice on fleming was about 12 inches on Friday, it is going out fast. I used my wheeler, but not anymore, it looks that bad now. I drove to the access on sqaug Friday, and there was a truck out there, very crazy.

ice here in big lake is about ready to go out, I give it less than a week.

Was able to fish on Gun yesterday and cleaned 10 worthy crappies but from a group of 3 guys - picked through a lot of small crappies and perch.

Another group out there took 21.

Saw a couple wheelers that went back around noon - ice was going pretty quick during the afternoon yesterday.

Bring on the soft water

I was wondering because I have a place on gun. I haven't made it up there since fall. The crappies were running 8 inches with a few 10s thrown in now and then. But few were much larger.
Looks like I might be putting in the dock early April.

I made it up there and fished a small lake with a friend of mine. We did good mid day for the crappies nothing big but good eaters. Also was able to shoot trap and take a walk through my deer hunting woods. Saw one set of wolf tracks but still plenty of deer tracks out by my stand in the remaining snow. All in all it was a beautiful and fun day.
