South facing, slight inclines,in the woods. 😉 if you find one you will find many typically. Only harvest a small percentage, 2-3% imo, of the area. Ramps take 5-7 years to regrow.

Ramps are a great bonus to morel hunting! I thought it would be a little early for those still. You get those in mn?

Reports coming out of mid to northern Iowa, and couple small blacks in sandy soil in the Metro. Really need some warmer nights in the forecast though

Yeah, next week it should get going. I would like to see a bit more rain, it's still fairly dry as a whole. My wife is out tromping around one of my spots today, maybe i will get lucky and have morels and eggs for a quick meal in the morning.

Saw a few scattered reports of friends finding spores this weekend. Looks like mostly pinky nail sized for the most part. Looks like we are going to get the rain i was hoping for, but the lows over the next couple days will make things interesting. i get the feeling it may be a stretched out season. I will try and get out tomorrow and Wednesday myself.

I've been out and havn't found any in spots from last year. I agree the overnight temps won't help anything. Maybe the slow warmup and moisture will provide and massive harvest. One can dream!

Found 3 small grey's yesterday in Washington county. Looking at the forecast for the next week or 2, as walleyechaser and JJ said I think we could have a longer season this year....weather permitting. We are still a bit out.
