Shallow crappies are starting to go strong! Caught 5 keepers yesterday in a few hours sorting through smaller ones. Small plain hook and crappie minnow about 2ft under the float. They were litterally 10-15 yrds from the cattails, further out and nothing would take it. Let's keep the reports going folks and good luck!!

Saturday I jumped in a boat with 2 friends for a few hours. They had found Crappies in 8-11 FOW. Presentation was kept basic with a crappie minnow under a slip bobber working best. Took out time picking out nicer fish, but got enough for meal.

Found lots of crappies under fallen logs hanging in the water along shore. They were all in around 2 feet of water hanging under the logs. Used flu flu jig with a minnow 12 - 18 inch under a float worked for me. Brought 7 home between two of us even though we saw a heck of a lot more
