NW Angle report 6-28/29-2016

My neighbor and I spent two days fishing Monument and Bishops Bay. We had fairly good weather with a front passing through yesterday.
The fishing was steady and the fish quality good with a lot of 19 to 22 inch fish boated. Dan my neighbor caught the best fish of the trip a 24 3/4 inch fish; my best was a 24 inch fish. This was a sports fishing trip and all fish were C&R.
We caught fish in a variety of depths from 22 to 30 FOW. There was a mayfly hatch going on and fishing transitional area from hard to soft bottom was the key to success.
Lure of choice was a spinner and a crawler with water temps ranging from 64 to 67 degrees.
With the wind gusting from the NW this morning we decided to cut our trip short and not take the beating of the 34 mile round trip from Young's Bay. We had a great stay at Young's Bay a first class operation.
