Any reports coming out of Snowbank Lake? I will be up there for a long weekend in a week and a half. Likely will target walleyes. Also any tips on hooking a lake trout they have in there?

Much better Walleye lakes than snowbank in the area.Trout will be starting to come out of the deeper water now.Try 25 to55 fow in the early mornings and late evenings.Sutton spoons and raps will do the trick with down riggers/3ways/dipsys.......side planers on long lines too will work!!!!!!!good luck report back after your trip!c63

All the walleye structure apparently is on the south end of the lake, as that's where I always see people fishing. The north half is deeper and colder, and has some nice drop offs that should hold lakers.

Didn't have much time to fish when visiting Smitty's for a family reunion trip, and it was my first time on the lake, but just wanted to report the success I did have. On the late afternoon of Saturday the 27th I found some walleyes in 25+ feet of water near a small island on the south end (thanks for that tip). Was jigging a pink walleye jig tipped with a chub minnow. Had a decent chop from the south, and grey skies before an approaching system that showed up that evening. Caught three walleyes (16.5", 17.5" and 10") and a few small smallies. Heard some success from some other fisherman with walleyes as well throughout the weekend. Not bad for late August! Water temps were in the 70-72 range throughout the weekend.
