Just returned from a quick 2 day trip to Lockport, Manitoba. Used to go yearly, have not been their for 4 years. WOW is all I can say, fishing has not changed, first hour was futile, dialed it in, mayhem, in a day and a half 50 or so cats weighing between 900 and 1000# total never went more then 10 minutes between fish, you had to take breaks! it was wild. cut bait tullies from Stu's, floats and lead, it simply worked. I will be back, it should be on your bucket list.

Sorry I missed this great report and yes catfishing on that great river is awesome and I have 19 months to retire and it will be an Annual event even if I have to go by myself, I miss it up there very much. Love the area and pulling in 15-25 pound channel cats is amazing especially the girth on those fish make them like linebackers. Great report and great pictures. Thank you for sharing your fishing experience with us here on LSF..........Kirk

Fishing the Red River is one thing. Fishing the Red River in Lockport is a whole different animal.

You hit the nail on the head when you say, sometimes you just have to reel in, set the rod down and take a break. It will burn you out for sure.

You also get to come home with plenty of belly bruises too!

Nice work.

I hear word it is nearly greenback time up there? Or is that closer to winter that the greenback action picks up?
