Fishking,I suspect the heavy snow in SASK pushed some of those birds down early eh?

Yes, most certainly a push came through. Duck numbers were fewer this weekend than last though. Definitely haven't seen the big push that we usually see here yet, haven't seen hardly any geese or snows migrating either. Warm weather in the 10 day forecast so suspect I'll have to wait a while longer for big push.

I was hunting the north metro on Friday and Saturday mornings. Friday there were alot more ducks in the area than the previous weekend but less geese. On Saturday I barely seen any ducks or geese in the air. Everyday is a new day out there and they should get better soon

Scouted for 3 days before my buddies got here for a four day trip. Started out with a bang, literally. Shot a 4 man limit of canvasbacks, pintail, red head, ring necks, spoonbills, gadwell, and GWT. Very diverse bag of ducks but hardly saw any mallards, northern mallards have yet to come from Saskatchewan.

Well this morning I had birds (mostly geese) flying in every direction, most looked like migrators flying high and were lessers,I suspect being MEA weekend folks were pushing birds out of every nook-n-cranny up north, reports from Manitoba and sask tell me the big wads are still north and growing daily, nodak reports are spotty at best from Bismarck north to the border.

Hunted water again in the North Metro this morning. Barely a bird in the sky. A couple high flocks of geese, and 1 flock of ducks in the distance. Only heard 3 other shots off in the distance, much quieter than any other MEA ive been out

I heard and saw that there was a great diver shoot on Lake of the
Woods today.

Anyone heard of the migration making it as far south as
Round, Bowstring, Winnie or Leech.

I know they had a couple of small pushes, of divers, into the Fergus area.

Honestly all duck tastes the same to me. Tons of spoonbills here though, we pass on most them unless we see a decent drake. I usually make them in fajitas or bacon wrap then so they taste good either way. Limited out for the 3rd day in a row. Up to 11 species of ducks on the trip.
