What's your best and worst ice fishing buys?

Just wondering would like to know what to stay away from.

Best for me.
Marcum flasher/game changer
warm boots
Nils 6 inch hand auger. k drill no use on it yet though.
Insulated fish houses.
Quality ice rods and reels.


Worst
Camera
Strike master augers any kind hand or gas
Ht rods
Real weeds yes got them as a gift.
those dippers that fold up and come out as you pull up broke 2 of them.
the buzz stick.
Tip ups. pin you down.

Best: in order of importance
Vexilar fl-18
Otter cottage
Carhartt artic coat
Tungsten jigs
Tuned up custom rods
Big buddy heater

Worst: in no particular order
Abu Garcia veritas noodle rod
Clam spoons ( too expensive and seems like more line twist)
Clam portable table (great concept, immediately broke)


I really like most of my stuff, and the things I dislike are only minor issues, except the abu rod. I hated that.

Vexilar (though top 3 brands are all great-but come on...FL-8 is a tank!)
President Reels
Nils/Tanaka Auger

IPA's
Stanley Thermos

Honda ATV's and Generators

Worst:
Anything CLAM
Styrofoam insulated bait buckets (Water freezes to lid)
Strikemaster augers (Especially the Electra Lazer. I think SM only has a following in MN...)

Ice Castle with Hydraulic lift and bathroom/shower

Worst:
Livewell in the Ice Castle (gets dirty and nasty quick)
