I am just hoping for enough ice by this weekend on a local 8' max depth lake so I can snowmobile on it.

I had 3-4" on Eagle Lake in Maple Grove. Drove by Independence yesterday and looked iced up, but I didn't check ice thickness.

Anyone do any repeat checking of ice spots to see how much ice we are putting down under the snow?

Checked Independence today. 3.25" about 20 yards from the shore off the launch. Thin ice warning signs and dark, sunken patches all over the lake. Drove the whole lake and it's all the same. Doesn't look good for the near future.

Hard to believe the ice is not getting thicker with this awful cold...

The 3-5 inches of snow seems to be hurting ice production. Getting more tomorow will not help.

Out right now on 5" in the west metro. Small lake, 20 max. Can't give more details cause it's one of my favorite holes. Ice is not forming much even with the brutal cold. Definitely expected a little more ice when we drilled, don't forget the spud if you go out

We honestly didn't check walking out which was dumb (didn't think we had to worry about it) but every hole we drilled once we got out there seemed to be the same. Only measured a couple but I'd say pretty consistent across all of them. 4.5-5 of solid clear with a thin layer of frozen slush and then snow.
