Well here is the latest (9 Dec).
Bad news: no one will be driving on Lake Wpg via Chalet Beach or Warner Rd. The winds have caused ice to pile up

Good news: The lake is starting to freeze up and the forecast is for COLD Temps.

Yes Kirk Had a great fall, 3 masters, a 28 1/2, 29 (weighed 12.0 lbs) and 1 30.. I have not seen Pruden nor Patricia but what I saw from the west side do not think it will be a go . Time will tell.

Well at Chalet there is about a 20 ft drop from the huge chunks of ice to broken ot jagged ice. The jagged ice will eventually fill with snow but come March I would not want to drive a wheeled vehicle over it.
Warner has huge chunks and I spoke with the guy that normally clears this area area and he does not see it happening at this time. One will have to look farther north to get access.
I have NOT checked out Pruden, Patricia or Balsalm yet but I would suspect the whole south basin will have jagged ice.

When some one thinks t would be safe to drive on I am sure they all open up a road at Cahlet and Warner but at Ralf Rdghe ice is smooth and usually a road on the ice

Thanks for the info Canuck and witt12, saw some pics of Chalet on FB, didn't look great, but looked do-able in a track machine.

The lake and Red has 12 to 13 inches. The temperatures the last few nights and tonight have really helped in making ice.
The river is smooth north of the Hwy #4 (bridge to nowhere).
The lake is good and smooth about a half to mile north of the south shore.

Sleds and track vehicles at this time would be me choice for travel of the frozen lakes and rivers. There still could be pockets of less ice so would not recommend cars or trucks.

Got real good reports from the River yesterday. Too cold for a whimp like me to venture out (wind chills of -40C) I will wait for mid week when less people and warmer temps coming.
