Okay, so I finally got my Helix 7 mounted on my snowmobile for my trip to lake of the woods, upon powering up I took it out of simulator mode an switched the screen to full map view since that is what I will primarily be using while driving. Upon scrolling up to lake of the woods (this was hard to do since the lakes don't show until zoomed in) I zoomed in on a known reef to check out the detail. To say the least this will not work for me unless I am doing something wrong, basically I have depth points but zero lines, there may be a line every 10 feet of depth, I was expecting a lot more detail out of this chip. Anybody have any words of wisdom? I zoomed in to some Mille lacs structure and lines showed up, is woods not one of then1 foot contour lakes? Any help is appreciated.

I was in my garage, not sure if that matters or not for satellite, but I will need to get a different chip if I am not going to get any line definition on woods.

Thanks in advance.

"Edit" this is the Navionics+ card

Did you download the SonarChart layer to the card? It is the High Def Layer of the mapping. And after inserting card did you select the SonarChart or Fish n Chip setting in the settings?

What part of LOTW are you looking at?

Not super familiar with the navionics chip but I know lakemaster makes a separate chip for rainy lake and lake of the woods...
Maybe navionics is the same way?

Kirt, I am not familiar with what you are referencing downloading the sonar chart to the card, do I just need to go on the website and download it? And this weekend will primarily fishing south shore up to maybe hay island depending on ice, but I will be fishing Canada as well in the future. Thanks for the help thus far, hopefully it is just something that needs to be downloaded, will I need to do this for every lake I want to fish?
