I bought a 8x16 firebrand this year. I haven't had it out yet. Just wondering what you guys think about getting the house out on good structure maybe even the mud, with a Polaris 850. Is it possible with the ice thickness and with no snow? I have chains on the back tires and lugs on front tires.

You'll be able to pull that house all over the lake. However with the ice thickness, I'd be careful and wait few more days for it to get a little thicker.

I saw a couple of big fish houses going out on Wahkon Bay this afternoon. Lots of people out there some with trucks and cars.

Thanks for the replies guys. I should clarify where I'm wanting to go. Garrison sports, red door, hunters pt. garrison sports says yes, red door and hunters said no right now but to call and ask on Thursday. So have any of you been to these locations and would you do it if you had my house and wheeler?

I fished all over that area Friday. Garrison to red door that is. I would say no as of last Friday as we found 6 inches in spots under snow and some heaves to cross to get to mud. I felt good about me and a wheeler and that was about it. However the conditions have definitely changed since then and ice should continue to grow...Much more ice in the bays I'm sure but I would wait till night before and call back. They are checking ice every day should be able to give you a better idea when you are a little closer to leaving.

How much ice over garrison reef or 3 mile if you checked there? How's the public landing there?

Garrison reef was 8 9 inches. I would think by weekend you would be fine ...garrison public access was great until our way in when a heave sunk and had a good two to three foot drop with a lot of water in it. Found a small spot to cross but that could have all changed as well. I know if I was hauling a wheel house out I would be going through a resort where guys check the ice daily.

The main problem is(or can be)the heave getting onto the the lake. This time of year there usually is some type of cracks, heaves that will change daily sometimes hourly.Be careful and pay attention to conditions....now go get em!!!!c63
