Call them and explain what happened. Just thinking out loud but maybe just another float added would fix that problem. I am sure they would send you another one to try. I haven't had my fall out but I've also made it a habit to check it.

Ya called them and talked with a guy that said they would call back yesterday or tomorrow. Mine is from the first production run and they have to think of what went wrong and what will work. Hope to hear good news today.

This was the first time in 3+ seasons that I did not check to make sure the drill chuck was not completely tight.

This one incident would not make me hesitate one bit on buying the K-drill. Love it!

Will post my results from Vexilar phone call when they call back.

Has anyone ever bought an ice auger with the expectation that the auger part will float? I get the sales pitch part of it but it seems like it defeats the purpose. MHO

RockBass1, have you ever looked at the K-Drill ?

I did talk with the Vexilar / KDrill guy today and they were not sure why my older drill sank to the bottom but they are going to send me some additional foam to glue to the existing foam on the upper part of the shaft. Should take care of the issue.

Good Customer service as usual!

Due to ongoing neck/back issues, I bought one this year. Was very unsure about it at first, but 11lbs won me over. After using it a few times and drilling about 30-40 holes with it, I could not be happier. I love it. My 10 yr old pounds holes with it like a veteran. Well worth the cash, at least in my situation.
