We'll be arriving Saturday morning for our first time on Mille Lacs this season--I have to assume that a lot of ice has been added over the last 36 hours.

Does anybody have intel on if trucks will be allowed to go out of any resort starting Saturday morning?

Many resorts on the South and East sides are allowing trucks. I know Appeldoorns and Lybacks are for sure.

Sweet! Too bad the only place people seem to fish is out of Red Door...we'll be pioneers and find fish on the south side.

Red Door has a 2ft crack in front of their place (as usual) and is not letting trucks out yet. Just be cautious if you're boondocking off the trail, we found a lot of varying ice in our last couple adventures out there!

Here is Eddy Lyback's from last night:

January 5th, 2016 8:00 pm.

After checking the ice the last 4 hours we have and average of 15″to 18″. For all you with wheel houses we will only be letting 1/2 ton rated trucks with single axle wheelhouses out of our access for the weekend. Period…. We have numerous cracks from the cold weather and a pressure ridge that has turned into a crack the last two days that we are not going to bridge until we have more ice, which will probably be after the weekend. Vehicles like up to 1 ton rated trucks will be ok, but not pulling anything. There will be maps in the office of where we are going and where we are not because of the ice conditions.

SE side has more structure than you could fish in a lifetime! And plenty of fish and fishermen. People like Red Door because its easy, a break and flats. Appeldoorn's is having crack issues as well...Good luck!

Brandt's is also letting trucks with houses out. It's going to be a zoo out there. Drive slow!
