My brother, and I loaded up my two oldest boys, and set off to the pond in search of strictly shallow water eyes. Set up in 11' on a point off a larger point with deep water surrounding 3 sides over zebra muscle covered boulders. Didn't take long to be hooked up with a smaller fish at 18 3/4" and it didnt take too long after that to get a few more bites/break offs before we decided to call it a night. A few more smaller fish throughout the night untill we connected with what we were coming up here for a absolute slob of a fish at 28", and weighing in at 9#'s!!! Back down the hole she went. A few other 20" class fish in the am. Then dead throughout the day which we figured it would be. Gave the boys time to ride their snowmobile around. Sat night didn't disappoint either with at least one fish every half hour throughout the night. Biggest was 25.5"s. The bait of choice was anything we had they wanted. We had shiners, suckers, fatheads, and rainbows. Minnow did not matter cause we were shallow, and they were eating anything in sight! Plain red hook over ruled all jigs for us. Overall a great weekend to introduce the pond to my boys!
