3 mile reef report 2/10-2/12

We were out of hunters this weekend because of contest they had and decided to to try 3 mile reef in my buddies wheelhouse. We tried a little shallower with the house in 19 and a 8 foot hump close by. We caught 7 total and missed a couple others, most fish were between 14-16 with one slot fish (19.5) and one 26 incher (matching my personal best for 4th time) in 8 FOW on a small sucker, hoping for a pike to win contest but ill take it. The slot fish did get entered into contest but just got bumped from the money finishing in 16th place (paid top 15)

Nice report! I went out of hunters on Saturday as well and it sure was hopping with the contest and the meat raffle at the bar. We went out to the left and set up in 26 FOW on the rocks. We had a heck of a flurry of fish from 430 - 5:15 come through and then it was see a fish every 5 minutes or so until I decided to pack it up once the rain started falling. Very tough to get anything going jigging but they did hit shiners on dead sticks. Looking at the future temps I plan to go back up and give it a go next weekend as I wouldn't be surprised to see shore ice disappearing (at least in my neck of the woods) with the upcoming weekend and mid 50's.

If it doesn't matter who wins or loses, then why do they keep score? Vince Lombardi
