My fiance and I are doing our honeymoon on Pine Island on Vermilion from May 14th through May 20th. Never fished the lake and we would hopefully like to get into some Northern and Walleye.. or even some Bass . Really anything that would give the rod a nice bend! Wondering if anyone out there could give some helpful advice to increase our chances ! Thanks in advance!

Which side of Pine island? Which end? It's 9 miles long.

Early season Walleye action on the north east end of Pine should be pretty good near the mouth of Bear creek and the surrounding areas. Work the breaks between the mouth of the creek to the west towards Buzzard island. There can also be some decent action in the mouth of Rice creek for Walleyes. There is lots of good Pike water up in that area, just look for the weed lines or throw spinnerbaits on the points or around some of the small islands.
For Smallies just pound the bank with small cranks, spinnerbaits, in-line spinners, jigs/plastics and swimbaits.

Don't forget to try a topwater for those Pike and Bass. ;)
