Not sure others experience this...

I actually stopped using salt blocks all together this year. Over the past couple years of using them I noticed I'd mostly get pics of does, fawns, and small bucks. Almost seemed like the big bucks were smart enough to not step foot in front of that camera. At the same time, I've caught almost all my big bucks well away from salt blocks.

I feel the same for mock scrapes. I guess I now prefer not to alter the natural movement of deer.

PS: I have one unopened Trophy Rock for sale.

Cant say I have but I dont run salt blocks and use a mineral recipe from the site. Salt blocks do nothing compared to a mineral site....one Aug I had over 20 bucks cross a cam right by a mineral site including several mature deer. the way I see it if you start them young they continue to come back. additionally if you create a flow of deer to one focal point, come rut when they still use that spot it will only help?

Also the amount our fawns hit the stuff it creates a healthier heard....but to each there own and even though it would be great to be the only one area doing this to be different, i try to get all land neighbors on it. No doubt we have much bigger deer on our property compared to the past

2 of my better placed cams were temporarily down due to bad card and out of battery....moved the ones that aren't getting anything other than smaller bucks to other mineral sites that seem to be getting hit hard.

One very unique pick of what appears to be a yote carrying a dead pup....my first thought was fawn when I saw it but only a few pics prior I had a fawn on that cam and the size does not compare

Cant wait to chase these cats come winter!

More deer on the mineral, tons of spike, forks, etc.....the size of the twin fawns is a testament to mineral. They hit it almost every other day

Hard to tell. But looks smaller than fawn. Pup, rabbit, maybe a fawn. I'll go with pup....

Great pictures buzz!!!!

Maybe I'll have to find some people to go in on your mineral recipe and split it with them or try to cut it down somehow for my smaller piece of property.

That's a good point on the mineral site vs. salt block. Looks like you have some nice ones using those mineral sites!

I was going to make my own mineral last season, never got around to it. Thought I'd forsure do one this year. However, on top of my blocks not working all that well, I'm now about 40 miles from the CWD hot zone and I'd prefer not to congregate deer unnaturally. It is still legal in my area, just personal preference I guess.
