Why does it seem the batteries don't last as long as they used to? Anyone have a good idea of the best battery and charger for trolling motor use?

Interstates have worked well for my last three boats.

? this day and age everything is electric, so there lays the problem with low/dead battery/batteries! onboard chargers recharging from a octane powered engine helps some if you don't over use the electronics'! solar power charger/maintainer would be the best solution to most battery problems. or a canoe and paddle? ( more power scotty).......... lol

Seems like AGM type batteries are suppose to be tougher. They cost a lot more and don't really have a much longer warranty then the old style. Wonder if it's better to just keep buying the cheaper ones? The AGM style suggest you have to be more careful about charging. They don't however recommend a special charger from what I've seen.
