They are all the same company. Call humminbird support.

Johnson outdoors own humminbird, minn kota, and lakemaster.

I'd also post elsewhere such as **** or WC forums. Electronics is not the strong suit of this forum...

So what manufacturer should I start with for support? My fear is with three involved I am anticipating a three way finger pointing with no solution.

They're owned by the same company and designed to work together, so they should all know what to do. But if it was me, since the issue seems to be the iPilot, I'd be calling Minnkota.

I may be getting some where here with this problem.

The next step is to due a software update to the Minnkota motor. Apparently the software the motor has is too old to use the follow the conture feature. Funny thing is the motor was bought brand new in 2015. The date of the software "update" is 2012. WTF?

So the update has been applied and we just need to test.

Glad you are getting it figured out. I guess I should have been more clear on a much earlier post when I told you to update your units!!! Literally the 4 post on the thread. That could have save you a headache. Sorry I was more specific about having to updat trolling motor head, ipilot remote (link only units), and humminbird units. All need to be updated.

Well finally it is working. As stated the motor and remote had to be updated.

My FIL is very happy to have it all working. We hit Lake Sarah and tried it out. He was following a conture as we found a brush pile with fish stacked around it he hit the anchor button for the trolling motor and BAM! Crappies.

When it all works, it's a beautiful thing!
