I thought I post this on here in case somebody need some idea of how to tether back the xi5 remote onto the lanyard if it broke off. Mine broke off a couple weeks ago on a fishing trip up north and ever since it has been a pain trying to access it when needed. So what I did was drill two small hole on an spacer O ring and screw it on the back side like the pictures I provided here. Before tightening it, I put on some waterproof seals on just incase water gets on the remote. It's not a pretty picture to look at but it'll do the job. Better than spending $100 on a new remote when this one still works. Hopefully this will help someone who happens to be in this situation.
