Are the Midge or Mayflies starting to hatch?

Checking out the webcams this morning I noticed Fellegy's camera was loaded with bugs. Anyone know if the hatch as started? Might have to changes some plans if it has.

Yep, was up yesterday and there were bugs. None on the lake but they were bad on land.

Why would you have to Chang plans?

I was up once during the Midge and Mayfly hatch. I'll never do that again.

There are hatches that happen all summer long. There is a fish fly hatch this week but not the big mayfly one yet. It would not stop me from going.

The NW end of the lake is loaded with fish flies, floating across the surface of the water especially along shore. When the breeze was up it wasn't too bad, when the breeze went calm I was about choked and blinded by them out on the lake.

The north end was covered with mayfly bodies, also the midges were out,but not bad. Eyes are still on sand, although deeper (21-23 fow). 56 water temp.

They really settled down today, hatch seems bout over, nice out on the lake.
