I am heading to leech lake this weekend for the first time ever. Can anyone offer me any advice as to where to launch out of, where to fish, what techniques to use, and what to expect? I would like to start out by fishing for walleyes and later I would love to go for bass and Northerns so an area that offers both opportunities is what I'd prefer. Thanks to anyone who can help and feel free to PM me if you prefer. I really appreciate it. Thanks!

With the local walleye tournament this weekend the landings will be busy, at least the ones in or near Walker. A jig and shiner has been working well for walleyes in 8 to 15ft depending on wind speed and direction. Shoreline areas are still producing with water temps in the mid to upper 50's. As for a multi species location, Steamboat bay should have all you are looking for. There have been walleyes scattered along the west shore of the big lake. Good luck.

Hardwoods and just north of the hardwoods has been consistent. Light Jig tipped with a shiner you will find the walleyes. First and Second duck will produce fish too. A lot of slot fish.
