Had this pic on my trail camera from earlier this week. Are any of these cubs I need to avoid (per DNR regulations) or am I looking at a shooter or two? The regs say no cub bears (less than 1 year old) but how can you tell? First time hunting and I would hate to make a mistake.

They are yearlings. 65-80 lbs. All though they are legal, I think you would be disappointed when walking up to it. Not much bigger then a black lab.

Those are all legal kills but yes, small. General rule is 5 gallon bucket or smaller you don't shoot.

Honestly, if looking for a rug mount that many are after, a 130 -200 lbs bear is not much difference. A bear is truly one of the hardest to judge. Look for small ears and belly drup.

If first time hunting, cut your cover logs to 3' or 4' (pick a size) and use them to judge when they come in.

I appreciate the replies. First time trying this and glad someone is willing to offer the advice. Will still be in the stand Friday, even if I just watch and take pictures. I was just surprised the first time I looked at the trail cam pics and saw these instead of deer. Hevishot, I happen to have 2 black labs so that should help me judge them a little bit better.
