Fall brownies

We're heading up to Mille Lacs to get into the wonderful smallie bite in a few weeks. Being that we've never been on Mille Lacs for other than walleye, any good advice out there to bag some small mouths? Probably will be cooler weather when we're up there than what we have now. We only catch and release. Thanks in advance!

I think most of the guys from down south clean theirs. Seriously, I seen the release last year and it was very successful. Like 99%.

Yes, Bassmasters release all of their fish, and they're very successful. I can't find the total numbers from Mille Lacs last year, but just a month ago the college championship was on Lake Bemidji and in the 3 days of fishing 455 bass were brought in, and 451 were released alive. Back in 2013 at the Bassmaster Classic in Oklahoma, every single fish that was weighed in was released alive, but water temps were between 39-45 degrees.
