Keep your house insured.
One thing we know, thieves are basically lazy, they will steal something easy, working isn't their forte so make them work for it!

If it's kids they will get pi$$ed that it's locked up. They will destroy the house out of spite as much as wanting to get inside. Best thing is leave the curtains open so people can see inside, remove anything of value.

Also have your neighbors (there are always people to close to your house) keep and eye out and let them know what you drive and if they see a strange truck around to call you.
