Thanks for the updates. Sounds like you are living the dream. I was worried about the warm temps too, but now I see its was cold last night up there and after todays warm up the next three days could make some ice. Ill have to call a couple bait shops and see what he word is on the smaller lakes. I heard over the weekend a couple of the smaller lakes north of Alexandria had 4+ inches, so if there were 5 by Friday on a smaller lake Id be happy to walk out on that.

Everything was open this weekend around Alex. Minnewaska was 90% capped over so I'm guessing it will be ok to walk on by this weekend. I fished on a smaller lake yesterday that had around 4 inches but I know most of the lake didn't have that. Supposed to be warm today but it wont affect the ice much. The days are short now and the ice is so clear I'm not to worried about the sun doing any damage.

Koeps bait posted on their Facebook page yesterday that people were heading out on the smaller lakes in the Glennwood area and they heard a report that Minnewaska had 2 inches. If Waska has 2, id expect some of the smaller lakes to be good for the weekend. Still hoping I can find some decent on Friday

Was out messing around checking some lakes went to first silver ice looked thicker than it is took one step out and went thru be careful out there I've only been here a year so I'm not familiar with a lot of lakes up here battle lake was wide open and clitherall was wide open by the landing I heard from bens bait they are on little pelican but people go thru the ice there every year the forecast for Friday is 47 but we are suppose to get some snow today which might be good and protect the little ice we have plus if we could get a few days with no wind that would help a lot water on battle was 32.8 on Friday I plan on taking boat out Friday if it gets that warm but forecast change daily up here

Not to familiar with Battle Lake area any names of smaller lakes to try? Would this Sunday be a possible option? I plan on driving that way.
