4 grouse
Rinse the cleaned grouse , and fillet the breasts and remove any silver skin and/or ligaments , cut into bite size chunks .
Salt n pepper
1 1/2 cups cornstarch
3 eggs beaten
1/4 cup canola oil
1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons ketchup
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 small can pineapple chunks
a handful of cashews

1) preheat oven to 325 degrees
2) place beaten eggs in a bowl , place the cornstarch in another bowl and put some salt n pepper to taste ,dip each chunk of grouse into egg first , then into the cornstarch and coat ,then place the coated chunk into large skillet with the oil heated to medium , brown , then remove onto paper towels to drain.
3) place all the browned n drained chunks into a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside .
4) in a medium size bowl put sugar, ketchup, the white vinegar, the apple cider vinegar, soy sauce , garlic salt , pineapple chunks , and cashews and stir together. Then pour over the browned grouse chunks in the baking dish , bake in the 325 degree preheated oven for 1 hour , stirring half way through.
5) spoon the baked grouse and sauce over white rice and serve.

This recipe is absolutely great ! A little tedious, but well worth the effort.
I guarantee you will enjoy this meal . I served this to some friends who have never eaten grouse before , and may have been leery of the meal , but once they tasted it , they enjoyed it , and said it was delicious and would surely eat it again ..... let me know how it goes for you !
