Just got back from checking a 120ish acre lake, 3.5-4 inches of good ice. I went out about 100 yards. Got a meeting at 3 then I'm going to go see if I can find a few crappies.

Made it out for the sundown bite. Good action with 8"-10" crappies. The 12 inchers were nowhere to be found.

I found 3.5" of ice almost everywhere I checked. I did find one area where the spud bar went through with 1 hit. Not sure if it was a spring or just a small area that froze up late. I'd suggest spudding your way to any areas you fish on the local lakes for the next week at the very least.

I was out about 100 yds on Swede Lake in Watertown. I had only an hour of fishing. In that time, I caught over 20 crappies but they all varied in size. Biggest crappie caught was about 10in. I say perfect fishing for people who is bringing their kids out this weekend.

Ice condition is about 4 inches every where i went, some even with 6in.

I'm sure there will be lots of people there this weekend. Be safe.

Curious how the last post post verbiage matches the one from Tonka thread. Go Away Please.

There were about 5 guys out on Carson's bay last night. I drive by it every day & there were pockets of open water out there 2 days ago- it's like walking through a mine field if you don't have a spud!
Be careful out there!

This post is exactly the same as the one on the tonka thread. I really hope you aren't screwing around. Early ice is dangerous and lives can easily be lost. What kind of person would post misinformation that could potentially harm others. This is no joking matter.

I'd take anything this poster and the poster on the tonka thread post with a grain of salt. Just my

Stay safe out there.

Not saying this guy wasn't spitting tails - but I just got back from checking 2 bays on the north west side of Tonka.

Bout 2.5" on one bay & 4" on the other. Lots of dark, sunken spots. Would be pretty careful out there this weekend.
