Great reg! Best thing the DNR has done in years. It is based on sound biology and results in other lakes. It is long overdue and will defiantely help pike fishing in the state. I know of lakes I can easily go keep 10 fish from 20-22" and get a ton of meat and help the lake. I'm 100% behind this. -)

Good move. The only thing that weeds out small pike are big pike and humans. This should improve overall size and quality of fish if anglers do take advantage of the new regulations. As for me, I cant stand cleaning those slimy snot rockets but after the burden they are a dang fine tasting fish.

Yup!

Crappie first
Northern second

And Walleye is somewhere way down the list for me on the Tasty Scale.

I like to cut the top off and go outside the Y bones. It is much easier and you never get a bone. I have seen videos of it on youtube.

Yep started doing it this way a couple years ago now. It works great. If you haven't seen the youtube video you should search it, makes cleaning slimers a lot easier!

I seen an Oldtimer about 85 doing it in a cleaning shack in the early 90's. A lot of pike lost their lives as a result! Its the only way to go.
