Talked with an old fishing buddy of mine who is up on Upper Red Lake the last three nights. He set up in 8 fow the first night and only caught a couple. The next day they moved to 12 fow and the bite was ok during the day but nothing at night. Ice is in great shape in places, he was on a good 14 - 15 inches of ice. Headed up on Tuesday and hope the bite picks up..................Kirk

Any updates would be appreciated, he also said the Lindy red rattlin flyer was the lure of choice so far.

Was on red Wednesday evening to Saturday morning was out about three miles from the south shore. Two guys wheel house but also had atv and portable. Under 11' didn't catch much but 12-13 did real good. 40" northern pike. Easy limits of walleye. Found it was just as good sitting in one spot as it was bouncing around. Friday night to Saturday morning 10 pm- 9 am had a fish about every 5-10 minutes. Ice was anywhere from 13 to 22 ( thicker ice was previously broken up, stacked up)

Something is messed up. When I try and use double quotes the post comes up blank. On an iPhone.

Fished from Friday 3:30 pm until Saturday 4:30 pm. Iced 12 walleyes and one 11 perch. All fish caught on rattle reels or tip downs. I gave up on jigging early. Probably missed just as many. 7 feet of water about a mile out.

Plain hook with split shot and red bead worked the best. I crush the minnow to injure it and that works the best.

Just got home from 2 nights out of west wind. Moved 3 times with the wheel house and for us the bite was slow. 5 nice keepers between 2 guys plus a couple nice perch. Lost 2 at the hole and missed a couple. Overall a slow weekend but good to be out either way.

I headed up on Sunday. Went out of jrs. Set up in 11 feet of water. Ended up with 4 keepers missed at few and threw one back. I had a few lookers but no takers. Pulled up and moved north to west winds set up in ten feet and so far nothing. Thinking about moving to try deeper water. As I'm typing this my dad just pulled in a little one. Now I don't what to do😳😳 good luck boys. I will update later.
