Just fished Out of Rogers today, set up in 14ft, had my 5 and 4 year old with. We hit the lake at 8 and had to stop fishing at 4. We ended up coming home with 7 fish. Wasnít super fast or furious but we had a couple good runs. Missed more than we caught, but it was there first time. Each of them caught one on the rattle reel by them self and then the oldest landed one on the dead stick!!!
Both loved it and I couldnít of asked for a better day!

Hey there jdpaulson7 ! Great pic of your son with his fish ,i would bet your son will not ever forget catching that fish , or the great day of fishing he had with his dad at Red Lake , i think that's awesome , something tells me he will be hooked ( no pun intended ) forever with fishing , it really shows that your doing things right with your sons ,by introducing them to fishing at there young age , great job dad !! In fact dad , i am so inspired by seeing the smile on your sons face while holding that fish , that if you wouldn't mind sending me a pm with your address so I could send to your sons a Christmas present , stocking stuffer of a new winter fishing pole and reel for it , I would be happy to do such for them if that would be ok with you .. Merry Christmas!!

Now on another note , i don't agree with the adults who pile there kids and probably there kids friends into a wheelhouse for the weekend just to take home a limit for all those kids , but in reality none of those kids ever even held a fishing rod the whole weekend . That just isn't right at all , and should not be allowed... and yes that type of thing does happen , more often than you think .. Now who is going to debate this scenario ?

Bigfatber,

No I donít think it is ok nor do I do it. But you make it sound as if people pile 10 kids into a fishhouse just to go rape and pillage a lake. Like I said Iím sure it has happened but you make it sound like every other wheelhouse does that.
People that take their kids fishing I applaud you!! Thatís what itís all about. Family and teaching the kids how to fish. Merry Christmas!

Hey floodeyes , now how did I make it seem that every other fish house does that ? Are you not reading the first part to my post ? Taking your kids fishing is
such a great thing to do . You state that people pile ten kids into a wheelhouse just to go rape and pillage a lake , and then you state that your sure it has happened . I'm happy to see we agree that it does happen............Bring a hundred kids with to play , skate , eat , spend time with family , but if they are not actually fishing , no fish should go home for those 100 kids .. I have personally seen were people bring kids with , and take a limit home for each kid , and not one of the kids even had a fishing pole . Why do you debate me on one hand , but then on the other hand you agree with me that it does happen ?
That's it for me on this one , I made my point . As for you , not so much. That eggnog sounds pretty good now , mmm tasty !!

I take my family and kids and keep limits for all. It's the spirit of the law. Nothing wrong with it. Sometimes they catch em, sometimes they don't. Sometimes everyone catches em. Sometimes we catch and release. It's called party fishing, similar to party hunting, I believe. As long as there in fish house or out hunting it's all good in Minnesota.
