Looking at purchasing either the Ion X or Strikemaster Lithium in a 10. Would like to hear real world experiences. I have heard the Strikemaster cuts faster, but the Ion is the way to go if reopening holes.

Has anyone seen any sales on these yet?

Both are great augers. I can only say my Ion opens holes as well as any auger out there.

I can only give you my opinion on the Ion X. Great auger in my wheelhouse. Doesn't throw ice chips everywhere and cuts with ease. The Ion X also has the new centering point which makes reopening holes an ease. My first season but thoroughly impressed.
