Bought a new tank top heater last year and as I recall it worked fine. Today I tried it for the first time today and it lit right up, I bumped the tank (gently) and it shut off. It would relight but wouldn't stay on. Anyone have any similar issues ever? Bad thermocouple maybe... just have a hard time thinking its broke when its barely been used.

Ck to see your t/c is snug, not too tight into the valve side,@a 1/4 to 5/16Ēnut. If itís loose itíll drop out. Sometimes it just needs to be snugged in a little.good luck

A tank top as in a sunflower type? If it's like mine, the anti-tip device is really sensitive and needs to be perfectly upright to remain lit. It's frustrating because you have no idea if it's just right except to test if it stays lit. Or you can just bypass it.
I keep it connected to use as a quick off.... by kicking it.... gently.
