Why do guys like casting when slip bobber fishing walleye? I always will fish by the boat with it because I am watching my graph.

I also have the motoguide xi5 so I can troll around, or I just use spot lock, but I have done well fishing by the boat. Just curious why guys like casting out away from the boat when in deeper water slip bobber fishing

I build my own rods and would like to build a bobber rod for myself. Im looking for a 8’-8.5’ telescopic medium light rod blank that won’t break the bank. I would like a telescopic blank because a 8.5’ rod won’t fit in my rod storage in the boat. Don’t really want to mess with a typical 2 piece split in the middle blank. Thanks for the help.
