Heading up there this coming Saturday. Staying at springsteel and was just wondering what the easiest way to get to 12 mile would be. Dale's? Pressure ridges to worry about? 4 wheeler? Any info would help. Thanks

I would call Springsteel as the ice roads can and do change daily especially in and around March.c63

First of all what are you using to get around with?I would say snowmobile or tracked ATV will be the best. The closest road(plowed) to 12 mile is going to be Dales which goes to the north side of Arnesen's reef.12 mile is approximately 2 miles due west of Arnesen's reef. There is a new breaker out past Dales road and numerous hidden ice chunks/monster cubes under the snow.If trying to off-road(truck) bring a couple of youngins with shovels..........you will be shoveling!c63

We are planning on bringing a couple side by sides and we were hoping to get to 12 with them from dales or from wherever we could get there from without having to cross breakers if possible. We might just have to spend the days using the tip ups towards springsteel area. Thanks for the help I appreciate it.

As of tonight I pretty sure you can get to 12 mile without crossing a breaker from the end of dales road.I still say tracks are the way to go.c63
