MNICEMAN and I hit the ice today for the first time this year, to find it in very good fishable shape. The bite was dead-slow unlike the winds all day and with no snow its hard to use a portable. So we roughed it and faced nature head on.
MN ended up with a dandy 12 inch perch on a Jammin jigs green Slim Rat. and we each had a few small bites, I had 1 flag up only to find my minnow had been snatched,
All in all we were both pleased just to get out and enjoy another day on the ice.

Most of the lake had 3-4 inches

Its locked in for the duration here, some lakes have some filling in to do, but it will be all locked up tight by the weekend.

Sickies.....

I'm going to Alma Dam tomorrow. In the boat. Forecast is for 57 degrees....rain....many waldo type fishes. Staring down a hole reminds me of a skin-diver for roto-rooter getting ready to go to work. I an't ready for that crap yet.

BE CAREFUL! With all this wind and rain I can't imagine ice to be too safe just yet. I don't want to see any of you on channel 5!

No need to head out today, way too wet. this weekend it should be all good around here.

This rain and winds suck! Although the water on the ice will freeze and make more ice.
