With the way this spring played out I decided that the conditions were never really favorable to produce a good enough bite to make the effort wirth it until this weekend. Made it out Saturday with very good results for not having any idea what the bite was doing.

Water temp was 57.5 at launch and I was hoping that would be warm enough for the fish to want to eat some cranks, found out immediately that would be the case. I wasnt even finished setting up yet when I heard I got 1. A few cranks later a 9lb fish was in the net. Low light the fish were definitely up on the flats eating. Once they slid out deeper they were not as aggressive but you could get a few to bite now and then. With the dirty water make sure you are pitching a crank with a rattle, the fish were definitely finding that much easier than a crank with no rattle.

We got blown off the lake before the evening bite could start with the worst front Ive ever been caught in. Went from dead calm to 40-50 mph winds, rain, and sleet in about 5 seconds. Made for real fun trying to get back to the launch.

We put around 40 fish in the boat with the best 6 between 8-9.5 lbs. water is dropping fast so the fish will be really on the move. Best practice would be to do some trolling until you find the fish and go back and set up on them.

Looks like a great day on the water Booner! You're right about that front. It came through quick up in my area but it was nasty for the 10 minutes it took to blow over.

A 10 minute trip took 45 minutes back to the launch and it blew the entire time.

Just now seeing this report. Nice job. Nothing like a bumpy wet boat ride.
