I'll be in the Huntersville area, hope to fill my tag early Saturday then stay dry in camp the rest of the time. Well maybe not completely "dry", I'm sure of that.

I will be in the Crosslake area looking for some meat for the freezer and time away to sit and soak in the sounds of the woods! 1st time in years opening the season in the big woods rather than farm country in central MN. One positive is I shouldn't hear traffic from any nearby roads!! Good Luck to everyone and have a safe weekend!!

I'll be back on the family Farm in 105 by Roseau. Hoping to get my 12yr old his first buck. He tagged his first deer (nice yearling doe) during the Oct youth only hunt.

I'll be out in 285 which definitely isn't up north, but it's the homeland.

Skipping opener in MN for first time since I could hunting 20 years ago. Heading to Missouri for 9 days or more with bow. Lots of good bucks compared to MN property.

Good luck to everyone and if you do nothing else this weekend please make sure to wear a harness and stay strapped to the tree. I don't want to be reading about any of you knuckleheads falling out of a tree.

Every day before rifle season I start rethinking my decision to hang up the rifle and get back out there with the boys. But now most of the other guys I hunted with have also hung up the rifles in favor of bows. I'll be out this week but not until mid week and I'll be hunting alone. Still fun but just not the same.
