Those of you with the Eskimo Fatfish 949i, is a buddy heater good enough to heat the shack or do most of you use the big buddy? I'm thinking of picking one up and already have a regular buddy heater. TIA

I don't have that model house but I would say get the big buddy. You can always turn it down and can't turn up the regular buddy past hi.

There are many reg buddies one the used market not many big buddy. There is a reason for that.

Yea its a tough call I have an Otter Cabin Hub now and can't turn my heater above low in there, the 949i isnt that much bigger. I usually don't bother fishing during extreme cold fronts anyway.

well keep in mind you cant use a propane hose / 20# tank with the little one. But sounds like you know what you need. Good luck

I have the Fatfish 949I also and heat it with a Hunting Buddy heater.
I think it is between the buddy and big buddy heat range BTU wise.
I also put a 2' x 2' foil faced insulating foam under it to keep the radiant heat from hitting the ice/ snow in front of it and making more of a puddle.
