The winch on my CanAm Outlander 800 crapped out on me and was just curious what size winch I should go with to replace it. Iím thinking either the #3000 or #3500.

I have a 3000 on my grizzly i play in the mud alot and if i had to do it again i would probably go 3500 i have had the 3000 not be able to pull me out a few times without help. in that situation I'm not sure the 3500 would have either, but it couldn't have hurt. biggest thing is the synthetic rope is so much nicer than the cable. and when I bought mine it came with the rope in the box to be changed if you wanted to

Go with the heaviest poundage you can fit on your machine. Iíve seen to many failed attempts to free up stuck machines by under rated or even somewhat stronger winches that fail to do the job.. Also if your ever with a larger side by side that needs a winch out , the heavy duty size will take care of matters. Extra straps are a must also . Yes I totally agree with the rope style instead of cable.
