Have a short report and some pics from the three times this weekend I got out on Lake Superior for some lake trout fishing. Thursday I got out with a friend from work, his daughter and my son. Things were pretty slow in my boat and we only ended up with 5 small lakers but two other of my co-workers were out in their boats and faired a little better with some bigger fish with the biggest one around 12lbs.

Friday morning I took my son and the neighbor girl out and we did a lot better catching 6 lakers 3 of them in 7-8 pound range. They had fun reeling those up. (we caught all the fish jigging on light tackle)

Finally today I took two friends out early and we caught a limit of 9 lakers and my buddy Lou was also out in his boat with his wife and he limited out with another 6 lakers. We were off the lake by noon and had a late afternoon fish fry. Enjoy the pics.

Now that looks like a fun time. And the Lakers were just a bonus! Getting Superior looks like a sheet of glass. What type of lures and general area?

Yeah we had great weather each time out. We were using 1 to 2 ounce jigging spoons on medium to light action rods with about 10lb test line. White is always a good color but this weekend just about any color worked. Chartruese, Green, Yellow and even Orange did the trick. We were in the Two Harbors area and although I didn't do any trolling the salmon were hitting the surface occasionally and I did see a few guys catching them on outriggers.
