Thought I would throw a thread out to talk fishing for a change.

Who is hitting the Pond for Opener?
I will be up sometime Friday and will be there thru the weekend and maybe Monday. North End for me. If the weather is not totally crap. we will go out at mid night and troll raps. Nothing like walleye and eggs when the sun is coming up. With the later spring, it will be interesting to see how the fish are acting. Shallow I would say to start.

Good Luck all...

I'll be up Friday as well. If it's nice, our group might hit a rock pile for some bobber action, otherwise get up early Saturday morning and stick around until Monday sometime.

All my normal opener buddies are out of commision this year (Over-seas deployments and a baby due on the 15th) so not sure if I'm gonna make it. I might wait until Sunday and take Monday off just to get a line wet by myself. I'll probably stay on the North Shore and just do some slip-bobber fishing or jigging on the Myr-Mar reef.

When does the night fishing ban start, Sunday night, or Later?

Not sure what point you were trying to make but just so your post does not create any confusion.....

MN Walleye opener is at 1200AM Saturday May 14th.

The night ban starts on Monday May 16th.

The night ban is not in effect for opening weekend...

PS I will be there

DNR has the opinion that to many fish will be taken during this time period, just use your net during the day and you can get to bed early....]
