I am curious which lake you bemidji lsf'ers plan on fishing at first ice? Personally I will probably fish Maple Lake, being it is close to home.

In my High school days I'd have been on the maple lake rock pile where the pier usual is as well. Now I'll be on lake Irvin first because of the earlier ice. But move to the north end of lake Bemidji out of northwoods access as soon as theirs good ice.

My first ice will most likely be back home over Thanksgiving. Pelican Lake, Grant Co. I'll most likely walk out and hit some spots on Turtle River as usual, so close and covenient for a short evening bite trip.

If I lived up there, I would fish Sandy lake near Pupopsky.. I never fished it in winter, but have had good luck on a couple spring days..
