Any reviews on the Humminbird Helix 7 Ice? Have they got the interference rejection figured out? I was going to go with a Marcum LX7, but really like the mapping capability

I have had it out a couple times and so far have been very impressed with the chirp and the resolution. I have not needed the interference rejection as I was alone. So far I am very happy, excited to use some of my autochart live maps I made this summer in it

I pretty interested in this unit as well. Curious to hear how it works next to other units with the Interference rejection now available. Looked at it at Scheels today and looks very nice.

I would also like to know if it's worth the money or not apparently they must be popular since I can't find a ice pack to go with it fleet farm in Fergus can't keep them on the shelves they are supposedly getting some on today I have the navionics chip in it and have the app on my phone also so I have everything mapped out on phone should I stick with my Marcum or is there more advantages with the lx7 I do most of my fishing with a old timer that don't believe in any of today's electronics we seem to do pretty good we just go out he says line up with that house and tree walk 30 ft towards the point and set up there plus he won't allow electronics in my fish house when he's with he says I don't listen to his tips when I'm watching the electronics he has lived in area for 65 years with his knowledge I really don't need one but I do want to try some other lakes any suggestions

Just received my 1521 tranducer for my Helix 7 G2N and can't wait to get on the ice!! This setup is replacing my G1 Helix 7 I used last year.
Glad to hear the resolution has improved! I wouldn't say I had trouble with resolution with old unit, but improvement is a good thing. I am anxious to see how the IR works as well. Most of the time I'm fishing away from other units, so it typically is not a concern. But, last year while on a trip to SD, I fished in a wheel house with 2 FL-18's and a Marcum LX-3 and my Helix 7 was nearly useless due to interference. Time will tell if the upgrade is the ticket, but I have high hopes! I just really like the idea of having a unit that can be used year round, not to mention the GPS/mapping capability.

I just bought the helix 5. Hopefully they have all of last year's problems smoothed out. On the carrying case what is that hole in the front where you can screw something into For? I looked all over humminbird website and didn't see anything for it.

My dad couldn't find what it was for either and just mounted a Marcum transducer arm to it

That's a good idea. Don't really like how the transducer cord is just free in the case.

Well I hope this is good because I ran into a Helix 5 G2 that a guy got with a boat and I could not pass up the deal so I bought it for my boy. It is all updated to ice and ready to roll. I guess when we get out again we will be running 2 side by side.

I too don't like how the ducer is left loose.
