Going through lulls to get to the bulls....

I finally had a day off from work, family, and guiding and wanted to get in some quality panfish to scratch an itch that's been building for awhile....

BemidjiFisher and I hit a couple of lakes which we had all to ourselves. We drilled roughly 20 holes on one lake, and another 25 or so on the other. It took 3 hours of searching on 2 lakes, but we finally found a nice pod of big fish for our efforts. We managed a few trophies, but I only got a couple of pics before my camera batteries died... :( The bigger fish ranged from 8.5" to 10", with some nice pumpkinseeds tossed in for a bonus! I'd say we only caught 30 'gills and 'seeds when all was said and done.

Tough day of fishing, but once we found them, it was a blasty!

some nice fish matty, the background on that second pic looks familiar... how are the travel conditions on those backwoods lakes?

Nice fish Guys, always fun to release a few breeders for seed. Beautiful colors. Can't wait to release a few of those beauties.

We released all fish caught yesterday, and yes, it's nice to do so!

Bob, every lake in the area looks like that pic! Spenser, you're right, you do know where, but you don't... ;)

Travel stinks. Both lakes we were on were full of slush and powder. I was blazing a trail while Trent followed. We made sure to never stop without making a beat-down trail!

Nice report! Good photos to boot!

big+1 on the trailblazing tip. Especially when alone, I always make a loop back to my original trail to ensure I don't get stuck! basically, when i get to where i want to start, I keep driving make a loop, and get back on my trail. This can be crucial for the the slushy conditions. Always bring a good shovel, and better yet a friend.

You all have no clue where we were...

p.s. No fish were harmed in the taking of these photos.
