Any chance we'll be open water fishing on Leech this opener? Imo it looks like a repeat of 2013. Boy I hope I'm wrong!

We need a lot warmer weather or a lot of rain to even have a chance that far north...

This link has a lot of information. Historical ice out on lakes, current ice out dates (none) earliest, latest, etc..

Bays are not opening in the cities. Open water by opener up there seems to be a very slim chance at this point, with no real warm weather even in the 15 day forecast. It's not even late ice conditions yet.

Man. 40" of ice is a lot of insulation to burn through. We need overnight lows to stay above freezing and rain. Not seeing the temps come up until at least the end of next week... I wouldn't say it can't happen but...it would be close.

Sitting in my office watching trucks drive down the lake. I think this will be the latest I have seen in over 20 years but it could change.

April 13th, 35" Shingobee bay, 35"" down by whipholt, 30" steamboat bay, still snow on the lake. Average ice out is April 28th, earliest April 2nd, latest May 23rd 1950! that must have been a dandy winter and spring.Things can change fast, but they better start changing soon. 2013 I believe the ice went out on Sunday of the opener. I hope I am wrong, but outlook is not too good.
