Well got to the pond about noon found our spot and lines in about 2pm. Went out of Brandt’s landing. Headed out about 4 1/4 miles and headed of trail to find a spot. Sitting in 29ft just of a 27ft to 31ft break. Lots of zebra mussels on the rocks below. So far it’s been pretty busy. Landed a 6,12,17,18 and a 20. Lots of fish showing up on the camera put very tight lipped. Hopefully evening bite picks up. Getting most by jigging and one on deadstick. That was the 20″. Plain red hook with pike chub.

Well things have certainly picked up a bit. Managed 17 more from 12″ to 26″. They have been coming from deadsticks and jigging. Bigger ones have been from deadsticks. Plain hook and shiners doing the best. There is about 18″ of ice here. Would not be able to get to where we are at with out chains on the truck. Hard crusty top and soft underneath. Hopefully the bite continues.

Well the evening turned out to busy. Best part of the evening was a 27″ double. And a happy wife. Sorry I couldn’t get any pics but we had a serious mess going and didn’t want to keep them out of the water to long. Had a total of 7 and missed 4. Did get a 22 for supper tonight. This morning has also been busy. Almost all coming from deadsticks. Pink glow and plain hook with shiner. Some reason they are tight lipped when jigging. Been throwing everything at them. Hopefully find something they will like.

Using plain red hook with just a head. One hole had caught about a dozen. The other hole 20’ away just two. Nothing in dead stick. One one tip up. LOTS of fishing being marked. No one within 500 yards of us. Only one on our flat!

Not a very productive afternoon. It was really slow. 4 fish 8,12,18,20. Lots on the camera but couldn’t find what they wanted. Threw everything I had. Let’s hope tonight is better.

Sad to report evening was not very good at all. One 20″ about 11:30 and reels didn’t go off again till 4am and 4:30. Both were lost on the way up and as the “DONALD” would say they were “HUGE”. One we got up just under the ice and couldn’t get him to come up three the hole. Other one was lost about 12ft up. Both bit on plain red hook and pike chub. All and all we both caught some fish and had fun.
