The first 2 deer taken on land I purchased last fall. I got an 8pt and my oldest got a doe. Only 2 we seen that offered a shot. Both on opening day within minutes of each other around 4pm.

Got some fun news a while back. My daughter’s deer won the big buck contest at the taxidermist. Biggest officially measured for a MN harvested buck brought in to his shop. There were bigger that he had in, but not harvested in MN.

Anyhow, because it won, she gets a FREE mount! So cool. Plus it made the record books for Sibley County….measured 169 3/8 gross, and 160 2/8 net.

My daughter wanted to “name” the deer like they do on TV, so she called it Tallboy. My dad made this plaque for her for Christmas to go with the mount when it’s finished in either late May or perhaps early June.

Sunrise and sunset - if you see them both, it's been a good day!
